The rapper can be seen twerking to a track that’s presumably going to be featured on her forthcoming record and judging from what we were able to hear, it’s sounding a lot like Super Bass — something Nicki said she “definitely would not” want to do again.
Of course we can’t be certain whether it’s similar but the vocals sound the same — whatever, we’ll just have to wait and see when the album drops later this year.
According to ThatGrapeJuice, the snippet of the song she played on Instagram earlier today is not the song she plans on making her debut track from the new album. Nicki reportedly plans on dropping her first single off of The Pink Print on May 5th.
There’s still very little information on Minaj’s forthcoming project. Her fans know she’s been busy working on what she considers will be her biggest album to date, though details on an official release date, its tracklist and featured artists, have not been mentioned as of yet.
The 31-year old has previously said that her Barbz will be surprised with the music material she’ll present to them later this year, while confirming that her “Starships” days were certainly over.
Cash Money CEO, Birdman, recently explained that Nicki is in control of her album and from what he’s heard so far, she’s shown a lot of “growth” from her self-proclaimed barbie image to a sophisticated rapper who’ll – without a doubt – have another chart-winning year.
“For the new album, she’s doing what she feels like doing and we’re supporting her. You hear a lot of growth in her music. She’s coming confident and hard. We expect for this to be one of the biggest [albums] from her.”
