It’s amazing how much change one person can bring on to Anna Wintour who, at one point, was very much against having reality stars anywhere near her highly respected brand.
Wintour has reportedly given Kim the thumbs up and included her on the guest list for May 5th’s Met Gala, and of course this comes just weeks after the world learned Kim would grace the cover of US Vogue’s April issue.
The issue has gone on to sell between 380-400,000 copies, according to Page Six, beating its competition from the likes of Beyonce and Michelle Obama. How embarrassing, right?
Well, Anna seems to have warmed up to Kim over the past twelve months and realized that having the socialite-turned-businesswoman stand by her side seemed good for business after all, and the cover of Vogue proved just that.
“Anna has agreed to let Kim attend the Met Gala,” a source confirmed. “The only way Kim managed to get into last year’s event was because Kanye – who happens to be a close pal to Anna – begged to have her stand by his side,” but this time around, she’ll actually be able to attend without having to drag her beau along.
Now that Kim and Anna have dined together in New York City, supposedly stay in touch through Kanye AND with the success of Vogue’s April issue, Ms. Wintour really has no reason not to allow the most famous Kardashian be invited to her events.
Kim Kardashian will be the only reality star at the bash next month as she’ll sit at a table with Hollywood A-list celebrities such as Angelina Jolie, Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Lopez and Madonna.
As for ticket sales, another source revealed that the prices would be rising immensely after Gwyneth Paltrow publicly complained about “overcrowding,” last year.
“Increasing the ticket price will make the Met Gala even more high-fashion, even more exclusive and even more aspirational.” The event organizers believe that the new price of $25,000 will keep out broke celebs who aren’t willing to fork out that much cash, meaning only the rich and fabulous will be able to make their way through the doors.
