Check out this photo of the X-Men starlet showing off a more sexier side to her as she covers June’s Flare cover — it’s a total change from the style she usually presents herself with.
Sporting a black blazer, matched with her bra, the actress not only poses well for the cover, she’s also talking a lot about her personal life… especially since her “coming out” speech had received so much attention by her Hollywood peers and fans.
“The more time went by, the more something just happened, an Oh my god—I want to love someone freely and walk down the street and hold my girlfriend’s hand,” the actress said.
But she also noted that there was a sense of fear to come out, especially when you’re in the limelight and people are constantly lurking around you. “You think you’re in a place where you’re all I’m thrilled to be gay, I have no issues about being gay anymore, I don’t feel shame about being gay, but you actually do.
“You’re just not fully aware of it. I think I still felt scared about people knowing. I felt awkward around gay people; I felt guilty for not being myself.”
Oh, and the most important thing was when she came out and noticed that the positive comments totally overshadowed the negatives. Why? Because there was hardly any backlash following her announcement; she was embraced by many people and that seemed to have shocked her.
“I expected so much more hate. It was just remarkably positive, which is beautiful, because it’s indicative of the change that’s happening.”
Ellen, I’m loving this cover. We know you like dressing up in more comfortable clothing, but this look seems to fit you quite nicely too. Beautiful cover.
