Mariah Carey has confirmed the release date of her new album, followed by its official cover artwork, its tracklist and a snippet of what we can expect to hear.

The R&B singer is strongly hinting that she’s taking the forthcoming record back to her Emancipation of Mimi days, and me personally… I’m totally here for it. Mimi became one of the biggest-selling albums in 2005, having also shifted over 400,000 copies in its first week, followed by the success of singles like We Belong Together, It’s Like That and Shake it Off.

Carey reveals that the album’s title, ‘Me. I Am Mariah…The Elusive Chanteuse’ was inspired from a drawing she made at the age of three — a picture of herself with the words Me. I Am is also included on the back cover of the album.

Here are some reasons why I’m totally stoked about this album; not only is it almost a fact that Mariah is bringing MiMi back, she’s got some great featured artists on the record such as good friend Nas, Wale, Fabolous and Mary J. Blige.
