‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’ Makes $281.1Million On Memorial Day Opening Weekend

x men days of future past box officeX-Men: Days of Future Past’ is killing its competition over at the Box Office, having pulled in super impressive numbers for its Memorial Day weekend opening.

The highly anticipated movie made a whopping $281.1Million globally in just three days since its release, making it the biggest opening week for any X-Men film and the biggest opening week for any FOX film… ever!

It has already destroyed sales that ‘Avatar’ made in its first three days, and if we are to believe what analysts are saying, the movie is well on its way to hit the one billion mark by the end of June.

‘Days of Future Past,’ starring Hugh Jackman, Jennifer Lawrence and Michael Fassbender, sees the original cast and the newbies join forces to fight evil as they head back into time to change history for what would end up saving the lives of mutants and humans in the future.

With these kind of impressive numbers, one can only hope that Marvel and Sony will one day come together to make one of the biggest films to date… by simply having all the Marvel characters join forces for a massive ‘Avengers‘ movie.

In case you didn’t know, Marvel sold the rights to many characters back in the 90s following bankruptcy, which caused them to sell many of their beloved comic stars. Sony is currently running with the ‘Spider-Man‘ franchise while FOX is doing their thing with X-Men.

But seeing that there was a little X-Men cameo at the end of ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’ movie, one can only hope that this means there’s a collaboration coming up soon.

Either way, congratulations for those big Box Office numbers!
