‘The Bachelorette’ Pays Tribute to Deceased Contestant Eric Hill

eric hill dead the bacheloretteI’m sure most will agree that last night’s episode of “The Bachelorette” was the saddest they’ve seen. The first hour and a half was just like any other episode. It included two one-on-one dates and one group date.

During the group date, Bachelorette Andi Dorfman and contestant Eric Hill confront each other about their relationship feeling like it has stalled.

A few episodes back, Andi and Eric had a great one-on-one date. I think it was a surprise to most viewers and to themselves that they went from such a good date to it feeling a little awkward between them.

Before the rose ceremony, Eric and Andi talked again. This time it ended in a fight with Andi crying.  He told Andi that he wasn’t seeing her true personality enough.

Eric said, “I came on this to meet a person, not a TV actress”. It was pretty obvious that Eric did not mean to hurt Andi’s feelings. In his mind, he was just being truthful. Andi sent Eric home before the rose ceremony even started.

At this point it was uncomfortable to watch since the viewers knew this would be Andi and Eric’s last conversation. Eric tragically died a few weeks after he left “The Bachelorette” in a paragliding accident.

Instead of ending the episode with the rose ceremony, host Chris Harrison and Andi talked about Eric to pay tribute to him. Andi had tears in her eyes pretty much the entire time.

She said, “To be honest, the way Eric left and my last conversation wit him, it’s not ideally the last conversation that I would want to have with somebody”. She mentioned that it is going to be hard for her that she won’t be able to see him at the “Men Tell All” episode.

The tribute would have been more meaningful if it showed some pictures and videos of Eric and not just Chris and Andi talking . #LiveLikeEric
