Jennifer Lopez Confirms Return to World Cup Opening Ceremony — Will Attend Ceremony Despite Initially Backing Out

jennifer lopez world cupJennifer Lopez may have initially pulled out of the World Cup opening ceremony earlier this week, but it has now been confirmed she’s back on the list!

The singer, who clearly can’t make her mind up, was rumored to have ditched the whole performance after news of her ex-boyfriend Casper Smart allegedly cheating on her with a transsexual woman came forward. Sources said she was “embarrassed”.

But now we’re hearing that Jennifer wasn’t pulling out of the event because of Casper, she was actually pulling out because she wasn’t impressed with the amount of money she was going to receive from her performance.

The ‘I Luh Ya Papi’ chart topper reportedly demanded to have everything from travel expenses covered to luxury stays at the nicest hotels for all of her entourage among other things which just seemed so outrageous.

And mind you that Jennifer usually gets her ways — she’s making up to $14 million per season on American Idol and recently negotiated a multi-million recording deal that came in her favor.

World Cup officials weren’t having it though, a source said, and they made it clear that if she doesn’t want to perform, then she can leave… which is exactly what she did, until now.

“JLo was in a back and forth with the World Cup about expenses. She had wanted them to cover everything for her, from private transportation, to her hotel and the costs associated for her entire entourage,” the insider dished.

Lopez, who must’ve forgotten that performing at the World Cup opening could drastically boost her sales for the album she’s expected to release next week also, had a little talk with her label who urged her to get back on.

“But in the end, the record label privately told JLo that she needed to perform this event”.

How ridiculous. They’ve already given you the platform to perform in front of billions at the ceremony and you’re going on about fancy hotel rooms and travel expenses, as if you didn’t have enough money to pay for it yourself.

She never signed a contract. She was only obliged to make the song after she signed the dotted line to be part of the track ‘We Are One’.
The World Cup opening ceremony isn’t something that officials would pay for — they know that whoever performs will get maximum exposure already.
It’s like the super bowl — they don’t get paid, just maximum exposure, and Jennifer has an album release days after performs so it all works out
