Jessa Duggar of “19 Kids and Counting” has caused a war on social media after a picture of her  holding a gun was posted on Facebook.

Ben Seewald, Jessa’s boyfriend, posted the picture of her holding a .22 caliber high-capacity semi-automatic assault rifle. Ben captioned the photo with, “My AWESOME girlfriend. #DontmesswithJessa”.

We’re not even sure if Jessa owns the gun since the photo looks like it was taken in a gun shop. However, it was the timing of the posting that many are complaining about.

Jessa has been a topic of conversation recently as she has gotten closer with her boyfriend. The two made a decision that they would not kiss or hold hands before engagement or possibly marriage.

One of the more interesting comments that somebody posted on Ben’s Facebook is, “They cannot do a front hug…or kiss… but it is okay to hold up an assault weapon for giggles”.

The Duggars believe “it’s really not the gun or the knife, it’s the person that has it in their hands”.

This isn’t the first time the Duggar family faced controversy regarding guns. In 2011, Jessa’s brother John David took a photo with his friend holding large riffles. The photo was taken before they went to target practice.

After John David’s picture got out, the Duggar family made it clear that gun safety is very important in their household. They keep their guns in a safe that only a few members of the family can open. They also have made it known that they have taken gun safety classes.

Jim Bob Duggar, the father, told ‘Radar Online’, “We believe it is important for children to learn safety about guns and knives. To learn how to use them properly and learn to not use them to hurt others but to use them as a tool.”

Jessa or Ben have yet to comment.

Hi, my name is Merema. If learning about pop culture was a degree I could've studied when I decided to take on a three-year course at college, I would've probably had the highest grades in my class. But instead, I settled for a BA in Film and a Master's in Filmmaking.

  1. I don’t see the outrage. She’s not killing anyone in the picture or pointing at anyone. I see worse in movies. People need to stop attacking people, and attack politicians and get legislation passed on assault weapons.

  2. Ugh so sick of these hypocrites. So disgusting. they hate homosexuals and think women cannot be of any authority position or should be educated outside if any housework
