‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ Sees Drastic Drop in Ratings — Show Facing Axe?

Looks like viewers are finally tired of ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians,’ because according to the viewing figures from last week’s episode, the Kardashians’ reality show is declining when it comes to ratings.

The June 8th premiere on the E! network saw a 28% decrease in viewership compared to the majority of episodes that aired earlier this year. This supposedly gives strong hints and signs that people are over the family.

Well, 28% is pretty big. The show was already averaging at around 1.9 million per episode so including that cut would make quite a difference. And not to forget that the entire family promote the show like crazy on their social media, yet people still didn’t care.

Regardless of the ratings, E! is still determined to keep the Kardashians under their network seeing that Khloe Kardashian and sister Kourtney are currently filming their new spinoff in the Hamptons followed by another season of KUWTK next year.

But one has to ask themselves whether this show is coming to an end — perhaps even by next year. Rob Kardashian has already abandoned the reality program, insisting that he doesn’t want to be part of the drama, especially not during his weight struggle.

And then you have Kim who constantly shields herself from the cameras now that she’s with Kanye. She won’t ever show baby North West nor will she ever invite the cameras to her home so that fans can see how she interacts with her child or her new hubby.

To some extent, fans may feel distant from the family that became famous for sharing every inch of their private lives on television.

But it’s very common for reality shows to eventually fade once the hype begins to sizzle out and it seems like the Kardashians are experiencing this right now.

Should the ratings continue to decline, there’s no doubt that E! will end the contract between them and the family. Kim, alone, is already making $100,000 per episode so the budgets might end up being higher than the profit that E! will make if the ratings don’t go up.

Do you still watch the show — or have you always hated it?
