The symptoms of those hospitalized ranged, although most were dealing with problems with dehydration, drugs, and alcohol.
According to CNN, the Massachusetts General Hospital received 13 patients between the ages of 16 and 19.
The exact number of people hospitalized has not been confirmed yet. It ranges from between 30 and 80 people. Because there were at least 30 people, medical services declared a Phase 2 Mass Casualty Incident.
It was an indoor concert and many complained of the venue being very hot. Chanel Andre, who was there to see Avicii, said, “These concerts should be outside…I think it was a combination of heat and drugs, more of the latter”.
There has been a trend lately with electronic music and drugs. Just before the concert in Boston, Avicii attended the Eelectric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas, where two people died and 800 were treated for medical conditions.
Avicii tweeted, “Just hearing the awful news abt tonight. Its a terrine thing, I rly hope everyone is ok! My thoughts go to those affected & their families (sic)”.
