Jason Biggs’ recent joke on Twitter backfired when the “Orange is the New Black” actor came off very insensitive regarding the Malaysian Airline crash.

An hour after the MH17 crash was reported; Biggs took to Twitter to make light of the situation.

“Anyone wanna buy my Malaysian Airlines frequent flier miles?” Biggs had asked.

Biggs’ joke about the reportedly shot down plane, which had 298 people aboard, was not received very well on Twitter.

According to The Wrap, the “American Pie” star defended his joke and fired back at those who criticized him for his ill-mannered comment, sending Twitter users into frenzy.

“Hey all you ‘too soon’ a–holes- it’s a f–king joke. You don’t have to think it’s funny, or even be on my twitter page at all.”

“Truly- you losers are literally trying to find s–t to get angry about. Channel your issues elsewhere,” he continued.

“The idea that I wouldn’t have any empathy 4 the victims or their families because I make a joke is absolutely ridiculous. U know that, right?”

“It’s saddest for the victims and their families, obviously. But Malaysia Airlines is apparently a GREAT airline. Gonna be tough to recover,” Biggs stated.

Maybe it was the relentless attack of Twitter users or just a change of heart, but Biggs stepped up and apologized Thursday afternoon for his comments with a four-part apology.

“Hey all- ok, so- I am deleting my previous tweets. People were offended, and that was not my intent,” the actor tweeted. “Sorry to those of you that were.”

He continued:

2) “This is obviously a horrible tragedy, and everyone-including myself- is sad and angry about it. Sending positive thoughts to the”

3) “victims and their families. P.S. No one is making me send these tweets- I simply understand that my comments might have come off”

4) “as insensitive and ill-timed. For that, I apologize.”

Jason Biggs, who is known to have tweeted some rather inappropriate and controversial tweets, explained on Blogging for Esquire last year why he loves his Twitter haters.

“You know what really gets me off? The hate. Oh, how I love the hate. Weird? Perhaps. But to me, watching people get riled up over the most trivial things is pure fking gold.”

Lets hope that Biggs recent Twitter rant will be the end of his not so funny tweets.

CNN reports that a missile is responsible for shooting down the Malaysia Airlines plane over Eastern Ukraine. All of the 298 people aboard the plane are believed to be deceased.
