According to reports, the 47-year-old “View” co-host will maintain custody of her son Jeffrey Jr. People stated.
Shepherd arrived at a hearing in L.A County Court Monday against Jeffrey Tarply, who was seeking full custody of their son.
Tarply claimed neglect on Shepherd’s part in April because her “career is seven days per week non-stop”, blaming Shepherd for the child’s lack of ability to write, read at grade level, tie his own shoes, and capability to look after himself. He also claimed that Shepherd consistently left their son with “unskilled nannies” during her busy schedule.
Despite Tarply’s accusations against his ex wife, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Michelle Williams denied Tarply full custody saying, “There has not been a material change in circumstances.”
TMZ reported that after Shepherd’s court hearing she took to Twitter to ask fans to “keep the prayers coming”, referring to her next case against estranged husband Lamar Sally.
“Keep the prayers coming… Still got more battles – please judge me by my character and not from the tabloids who are having a slow news day” Shepherd stated.
Although Shepherd has won this fight, she must now prepare for battle against Lamar Sally who filed for divorce May 2nd. Sally is seeking full custody of their unborn child as well as spousal support.
