Fans of the brooding Bat received a surprising gift from DC Comics at San Diego’s Comic Con Thursday.
As part of a montage honoring Batman’s 75th anniversary, DC Comics revealed a first close-up profile shot of Ben Affleck sporting Batman’s suit.
That wasn’t all, fans of the caped crusader got to get a 360 view of Affleck’s cape and cowl from the up and coming anticipated film Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice on the SDCC floor.
Unlike its predecessors, the new bat suit has some slight differences. For one, the bat ears are much shorter than Christopher Nolan’s interpretation. In addition, according to Co-Publisher Jim Lee in an interview with USA Today, the cape offers a “very low drag coefficient.” Regardless of the differences, fans are all the more excited to witness Affleck’s portrayal of the vigilante.
The superhero film is set to shoot in Detroit and other international locales and will star Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Jessie Eisenberg as Lex Luthor and Amy Adams as Loise Lane. Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice will premier May 6, 2016.
