Thankfully both loved ones survived the horrific accident.
TMZ reported that the crash occurred after Dwayne’s mom, Ata Maiva-Johnson, and his cousin left the Usos Foundation Banquet.
Both family members suffered injuries and were immediately rushed to the hospital. According to the former wrestler’s uncle, Dwayne’s mom had to be hospitalized for three nights.
Both have been reported to be doing much better.
On Sunday, The Rock uploaded a picture of the accident, displaying both totaled cars for the world to see and reminding fans to hug their loved ones each and every day.
“First reaction is to find the person who did this and do unrelenting harm to them, But then you realize the most important thing is my family lived thru this and we can hug each other that much tighter these days,” The Rock stated.
“Hug your own family tighter today and be grateful you can tell them you love them. #BearHugsAndGratitude #100PercentPreventable #ChoicesMatter.”
The Rock’s cousin, WWE NXT Diva, Lina Fanene, as well took to Instagram to open up about the recent incident, uploading a picture of Dwayne visiting her at the hospital.
“Everything happens for a reason’ Not sure why the very intoxicated woman decided to drive her car, head first, into our car…but I do know that we are extremely lucky to be alive and that everything we have is fixable.”
“It’s a bump in the road, but we will get past it and be stronger than before! I’m grateful for all the wonderful LOVE I have received from everyone. My family & friends are AMAZING! Life is wonderful!”
Glad to know that both Lina and Dwayne’s mom, Ata, are safe and sound.
