A fun night became a deadly one after an unidentified man was shot multiple times during rapper Wiz Khalifa’s concert Friday night.
According to reports, cops were called to the scene around 11 p.m. after shots were heard at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Silicon Valley.
It was there where police discovered a 38-year-old man backstage suffering from multiple wounds.
The victim was immediately rushed to the hospital but unfortunalty did not make it.
The shooter has yet to be caught, leaving the police to ask for the public’s help in providing any reliable information of the suspect. The police department is asking witnesses and attendees of the concert to bring forth any reliable evidence caught on video or camera.
The shooter is described to be a young man in his 20s and is armed with a black pistol and large magazine.
Due to the tragic incident, an “active investigation” is currently underway, causing the 26-year-old rapper’s Saturday night performance in Chula Vista, California to be canceled.
According to the artist’s Twitter account, the rapper blamed the canceled Sleep Train Amphitheater performance for a situation that was way beyond his control.
Wiz Khalifa, who is known for his marriage to Amber Rose, continued, giving his condolences to the victim’s loved ones.
“This was a senseless tragedy. Violence is never the answer. My prayers go out to the victim’s family.”
As for now the renowned rapper is still set to perform at Sunday’s concert in Irvine, California.
