While Joan Rivers is still on life support at New York’s Mount Sinai Hospital, new information has surfaced on the starlet’s condition.
Rivers is expected to make a recovery, source to Joan’s daughter, Melissa, have said. It’s likely that Joan will bounce back from the scary situation she’s currently facing — whenever the words ‘life support’ are mentioned, you instantly fear the worst.
But not in this case. Joan is “slowly but surely” recovering from her throat surgery that sorta went wrong when Joan stopped breathing last week.
With the good news that Joan is likely to make a recovery, doctors have allegedly told Melissa that her mother will without question face a year in rehab to gather herself back together. There’s also a possibility of brain damage that Joan may have faced, though it’s unclear whether this is the case yet.
One thing that is certain, however, is that ‘Fashion Police’, the wildly popular show on E!, has been canceled seeing that Joan is in no position to return to work if she ever manages to successfully recover from her position as of right now.
A year in rehab, a successful show canceled, the fear of brain damage — there’s only so much one person can take. But Melissa Rivers is supposedly putting up a tough act to stay strong for her crumbling family who are currently by Joan’s side.
One member of another family who are currently on the same floor as Joan, expressed how nice Melissa was to them despite going through hell with her own situation. “It really affects her, what she’s going through. She’s hurting, and yet she took the time to really care for us — and she doesn’t even know us.”
