Sam Worthington Gets Sued For Hitting Paparazzi

Screen Shot 2014-09-25 at 22.55.19Sam Worthington and his girlfriend, Lara Bingle, are reportedly being sued for $10 million for allegedly beating up a paparazzi, TMZ stated.

In February, the Australian actor and his model girlfriend got into a fight with photographer Sheng Li outside a New York bar.

The rather violent dispute left the pap with some serious injuries, including a torn shoulder, facial contusions, and injuries to his thumb and wrist.

According to TMZ, the injuries related to the attack may leave Sheng with some much needed surgery.

According to Daily Mail, the incident occurred after Sheng allegedly kicked Worthington’s girlfriend. Footage of the heated episode shows Worthington and Bingle trying to snatch the camera from Sheng’s hands.

Sheng is then seen, curled on the ground and pushed against the hood of his car.

Sheng and his lawyer Mark Heller filed a complaint against the actor and his girlfriend for assault, attempted robbery, and giving false information to the NYPD.
Worthington however admitted to the assault as NYPD Lieutenant John Grimpel told Radar.

“The photographer kicked Lara and then Worthington punched him causing the photographer to have lacerations to his nose.”
“He has been charged with assault. He punched the photographer.”

Worthington however walked away scott free from any jail time due to “entering into a conditional dismissal deal on April 8 with the condition of six months of good behavior,” Daily Mail stated.

Although Worthington didn’t get the punishment that Sheng believed he deserved, Sam wasn’t the only one who got to walk away a free man. Charges against Sheng from Worthington were as well dropped.

“After careful evaluation of the facts and in consideration of the injuries sustained by both the victim and the defendant, the people move to dismiss the case against the defendant in the interest of justice,” Assistant District Attorney Francesca Bartolomey said Thursday during Li’s court appearance.

It’s probably time that the paparazzi learns to stay clear from celebrities that hate having their picture taken.
