Rihanna is gearing up for the winter holidays, reportedly planning to unveil her forthcoming studio album on Christmas Day!!!
Word has been speculating quick that Rihanna had been in the studio finalising her new record, which was supposed to have been released earlier this year.
But according to sources, the project was delayed by the label for reasons we’re not too sure of.
Either way, it seems like the album is a done deal because shopping outlets are already opening pre-order webpages for Rihanna’s new record which sees its release date for December 26.
This would presumably be the worldwide release with the exception for the UK who tend to have albums go on sale one day early — meaning the album would see a release for December 25th for them in particular.
Sounds awesome, right?
Well, we’re still waiting for Rihanna to make some kind of announcement but usually when store outlets are already setting up pre-orders with dates on them, you know it’s a done deal.
play.com were the first to set up their pre-ordering page for Rihanna’s new album. Amazon was said to have followed soon after but took it down within hours.
Rih has stated in recent weeks that new music will be on its way “very soon” and if we were to believe reports that her eight album is really dropping on Christmas day, this would make the Christmas season so much more special.
No shade, but with the anticipation of this new album along with the marketing strategy on having the record see a release for Christmas, this should mean that her first-week sales should be much more solid than for her previous albums which have all stalled in the 100k+ bracket.
Rihanna, slay our Christmas period.
