Iggy Azalea has unveiled the first single from her forthcoming album ‘Digital Distortion.’
The Australian-beauty, who admitted to having needed some time off from the music industry last year, clearly seems to have been keeping herself busy in the studio.
The new single, which is titled ‘AZILLION,’ is super catchy and has already received a lot of positive feedback from fans on Twitter since its release just hours ago.
Within eight hours, the song managed to hit a milestone of 130,000 online streams, showing clear signs that people have been missing Iggy Azalea.
The song itself sounds like a feel-good track, and in all honesty, it sounds like a massive shift from what Azalea was bringing to the rap game back in 2014. The sound is much more experimental, drifting into the field of Electro, but the risk seems to be paying off since fans are loving the track.
Iggy has confirmed that her upcoming album will see a release date very soon, while her fiance, Nick Young, strongly predicts that the record may be hard to top by other artists.
“I see how hard she be in the studio and I heard a couple songs,” he recently told Billboard. “Couple surprises and a lot of features on there. It’ll be dope.”
The 25-year-old will have a very busy year ahead of her. Not only is she planning the release of the new record, Iggy is also hoping to support her new music with a world tour, followed by her long-awaited wedding to her NBA baller beau.
Our own opinions on the song after having listened to it three times is that it’s promising and sounds like it can potentially become a hit. It’s so out of Iggy’s lane to drift into such a different sound, but it tends to suit her more than the previous generic beats she offered in 2014.
Iggy season. Let’s go!
