Cheryl Fernandez-Versini Divorces Husband, Extreme Weight Loss Blamed On Failed Marriage

Cheryl Fernandez-Versini is said to have filed for divorce from her soon-to-be ex-husband, Jean Bernard, citing irreconcilable differences, according to reports.

The X Factor UK judge is believed to have separated from her estranged husband since August, 2015 but the twosome decided to keep the news on the low in the hopes of trying to give their relationship another go.

According to several outlets, Cheryl knew that she rushed into the marriage too fast — after marrying, she knew she made a mistake and feared that people would criticise her endlessly.

The pop star made headlines just a few months ago when she returned to the X Factor UK, displaying a horrific sign of weight loss, to the point where people had questioned whether she was battling anorexia.

Versini denied those reports at the time, but viewers at home seemed to be aware of the fact that something wasn’t right with Britain’s pop princess, who had never looked that fragile before.

A source reveals: “In the end Cheryl realized she had married too soon and had been swept away by a bit of a whirlwind romance.”

The source concluded, saying: “Over time it became clear to each of them that they were very different people and from very different worlds. They are now focusing on making sure they stay friends. The divorce is amicable and they have both said they will always be there for each other.”

The couple have not been seen out in public for more than two months; Cheryl Fernandez-Versini has made many appearances out in London, but never with her husband by her side, which quite honestly was a dead giveaway.

The songstress is expected to start recording her forthcoming album sometime this year, so perhaps using this devastating time will see her pen some great songs.

Once the divorce is finalized, this will become Cheryl’s second failed marriage.
